Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • ½ cup Semolina
  • 1/2 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 Green Chili (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Green Peas
  • 1 tbsp Tomato (chopped)
  • ¼ cup bell peppers (chopped)
  • Salt – to taste
  • 1 cup milk/water
  • 3 tbsp + ½ cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 – 4 tbsp water
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable Oil – for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan
  2. Add semolina & toast for 2 – 3 minutes.
  3. Add onion, green chili, green peas & tomato. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Add salt & milk. Stir continuously & cook for 2 – 3 minutes or until the mixture thickens
  5. When the mixer thickens, transfer it in a lined square pan & refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. Trim the edges & cut in squares.
  7. In a bowl, add in 3 tbsp flour & water. Mix until combined & set aside.
  8. Coat each upma square with ½ cup of flour then dip in flour slurry & coat with breadcrumbs.
  9. Deep fry for 5 – 7 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Drain on a paper towel & Serve hot !
