Gorgeous buttery tarts with a vanilla custard filling and a cinnamon touch, Pasteis de Nata are a Portuguese dessert you have to have
For this recipe I decided to make the dough for the tart crust from scratch, this is practically puff pastry so feel free to use puff pastry if you are running short on time but just make sure it is made with real butter ;)
The custard filling is an egg yolk base flavoured with cinnamon and vanilla
Bake at your highest temperature setting 270-290°C for 9-10min until the crust looks brown and the tops look slightly burned Recipe makes 8-10 tartsIngredients

Notes
There are many ways to make these pastry treats of course as with any other dessert! (I am Not trying to piss off any Portuguese people here, that’s not what this should be about ????)
I tried to focus on the simplest way of making the pastry which is the trickiest part and for the custard I wanted to do almost a one-bowl recipe
